“ 5 stars all around. Great service and wonderful food. We enjoyed the lobster sausage appetizer, ribeye steak, halibut, and carrot cake. It's is a new favorite spot -- beats out Byrd and Baldwin for a date night. Simple things to be aware of: complementary valet parking (if you forget or don't have cash, you can add the valet tip to your bill at the end and your server will bring you cash from the bar to hand to the valet -- who at least for us was a very respectful young college student who was quickly met us once we pulled up and quickly brought us our car.) Yes, gratuity (20%) is added to your bill, which is clearly stated on the menu and if you read just a handful of reviews of Zoes -- shouldn't be a surprise at bill time. ”
“ If you want a memorable dining experience with superior service then make a reservation for Zoes. Even the valets are wonderful. From the second you pull in the parking lot, the hostess (Julia), the bartenders and wait staff are all wonderful. And they even have a happy hour which I enjoy. It gives some people a chance to try a restaurant that they can't afford to drop $300 for a meal. I highly recommend making reservations...even in the bar. The bar is small and we had a hard time finding seats at 5:15 on a Wednesday. The interior is classy and has private rooms for events. I came for one thing and that was the $50 wagyu burger that is $25 on Wednesdays. And half price appetizers so I had the lobster sausage pops. The burger was delicious with a sesame bun, special sauce and bacon jam. It came with A LOT of shoe string fries which were also very good. I split the meal with a friend....I definitely could not have finished it all. The sausage pops were unique and delicious. I would love to go back for another HH since appetizers are 1/2 price and try a few more appetizers. I would love to dine in for dinner but it's not in my budget now but it's on my list. Definitely check them out if you want a special evening....even at the bar. ”
“ Zoë's is one of the best restaurants we have had the pleasure of visiting! Its service, setting and food is out of this world. The valet, servers and sommelier make for an excellent dining experience. They always go out of their way to make our anniversary dinner special! Be prepared for a high-dollar experience! ”
“ Our first visit to Zoë's was a lovely one! I made a reservation for my husband's birthday for a Wednesday evening. They have "wagyu Wednesdays" which is half off their wagyu. A great deal for those who don't mind going over $100 on a weeknight! They made a lovely touch on the table with a birthday card for the hubs. Sadly I didn't get a photo of the steaks, which were done to perfection. However, my husband did make the comment that a steak this good should not have sauce on it and I agree. You just want to be able to taste the meat with a little bit of salt to bring out the flavor. The amuse bouche was a cucumber bite with a dill-like herb but not dill. Delicious! The house made bread was delightful! Could have had a boat full of that! The coconut Paloma was by far one of the highlights of the meal. Absolutely delicious! I would return just to have one of those at the bar. My husband had the old fashioned which was interesting; not your typical OF. The service by Dave was outstanding! He is a fantastic employee who should be held on to. Thanks for making the night special, Dave! The dock of a star comes for portion size. The sides with the steak were barely anything. My husband ordered a side of lump crab which means they skimped on potatoes. Not cool. I could also have had more potatoes on my plate. The dessert menu was a disappointment, so we went elsewhere for that. I would definitely return to Zoë's for a special occasion or just for one of the Paloma's!!! ”
“ Zoës was one of the most amazing meals we've had in Virginia Beach. My husband recommended it for a date night and we made online reservations easily. When you arrive, there is valet which is a nice touch. We were seated in a room towards the back of the restaurant, which is upscale and definitely a place you can dress up. My husband wore jeans and said he felt a little underdressed. They have great cocktail and wine list, we got a little of both. I started with their pear cocktail which was a bit acidic, so switched over to my normal dirty martinis afterward which was perfectly prepared. I can't pass up a martini if they have blue cheese stuffed olives! We got a few appetizers to start - the Oysters Rockefeller, the beef tartare and the foie gras. The foie gras was the only thing we ordered that we wouldn't get again. It was missing a texture variation. Everything was soft, which meant the beautiful foie gras was a bit lost. Sad, because it is usually our favorite dish! The steak tartare however, was fantastic as were the oysters! For entrees, we shared a salad and the steak frites. The steak was perfectly prepared, seasoned beautifully and was obviously a really high quality cut. The fries were also delicious. Ended our meal with the carrot cake, which isn't JUST picture-worthy, but also damn good. Overall, a wonderful date night! ”
“ OMG! This place is absolutely amazing! The staff was so courteous and welcoming as soon as you arrive and throughout the service. There is valet, coat check, and as you wait you have staff who will take drink and appetizers for you in the waiting area. I ordered a featured meal from their restaurant week and it was cooked to perfection! The filet was so tender and flavorful! The oysters and salad were also delicious. The ambiance was perfect as well! I will definitely be returning ! ”
“ It's been well over 10 years since my initial (and only) visit to Zoes. So, during Restaurant Week 2024 my husband and I decided to give them another try last night after a long break. The restaurant has recently undergone a facelift with new floors, paint, updates and an overall lightening and brightening. That was nice as I remember it being somewhat gloomy before. The menu has changed significantly and has a lot more non-steak options including a Salmon bowl, fish of the day, pasta, some vegetarian options, etc. You'll still find the same great steaks and the lobster Mac they're famous for, but we did find out that a new chef has taken over in the last two years and they've worked hard on changing the menu a bit. Of note: steaks now come with two sides. This is a nice change. Our server was delightful - super sweet and friendly - very talkative and personable - and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Always appreciated. Her name was Chantel. She was a doll. We chose to go with the Restaurant Week Menu for $45 per person with a 3-choice menu. I chose the Oysters Rockefeller, theirs has pimento cheese so that was new for me, a Cesar salad (small and served as a mini wedge), and the meatloaf with some veggies and whipped potato. Delicious. My husband chose the Oysters Rockafeller as well, a wedge salad (chopped) which was very good, and the 5oz. filet with potatoes and veggies. We chose coffee and a salted caramel cheesecake for dessert. Coffee was great, fresh and hot. Their cheesecake is very traditional in style and doesn't have a crust (I like crust). My first visit here I was not super impressed - this time the spaces are cleaner and fresher, food was good (steak was properly cooked) and service was excellent (same as before). Service was excellent both times and we enjoyed ourselves. It's still pricey and 20% gratuity is added automatically to the check. Our meal was paced at around 2.5 hours so it was a looonggg time with long breaks in between. ”
“ Tried this restaurant for Restaurant Week 2024. Great staff and atmosphere upon arrival. Had a 7:00pm reservation and was seated promptly. Had a great view of the open kitchen and was able to see the chefs at work. For appetizers had the Rockefeller Oysters and Lobster Mac and Cheese. Oysters were superb however we didn't care for the Lobster Mac much. Next had the Caesar and Bibb Salads both were great. Main course was filet mignon, mash potatoes and veggies and added buttery crab. Felt like crab needed some seasoning. Hubby had the Sanuki Smash which was a burger, the fries with it were amazing and he raved about the burger. Overall the place was nice and the food was good. Worth the try. ”
